GPA leads on Smarter Working across Government driving modern ways of working that support collaboration and wellbeing with the the ultimate goal of making the Civil Service a great place to work. The benefits are immense: for recruitment and retention; a reduced carbon footprint; a more diverse workforce; better mental and physical health; improved productivity; and more effective use of property. All together a significant contribution to creating ‘A Brilliant Civil Service’.
Our mission is clear: We will transform the Civil Service into a great place to work and an employer of choice through a smarter working environment that empowers staff to make the right decision about where and when to work; optimising the use of the workplace and technology and realising savings for the taxpayer. This will improve productivity with a focus on outputs and enable a better work life balance for all.
And at GPA we wish to lead by example. We work flexibly across a nationwide network of office locations with 'go-anywhere' IT facilitating quick connections through video hang-outs and instant messaging - wherever you are working from.
It's an agenda Government is taking seriously; under GPA's leadership, all Government Departments and their Executive Agencies are working to implement smarter working policies to the PAS3000 benchmark set by the British Standards Institute by the end of 2022 - with 70% doing this by the end of 2020 - to achieve the ultimate goal of making the Civil Service a great place to work.
